Registered Psychologist, EMDR Trainer and Consultant

I’m Kyle, an anti-racist Registered Psychologist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer based in Edmonton. I specialize in EMDR therapy and trauma-focused care, with a particular interest in helping people process painful experiences that continue to affect how they feel, relate, work, or move through the world.

I try to bring both skill and humanity into the therapy room. My style is calm, collaborative, and direct when needed. I believe good therapy is not just about techniques—it is also about feeling understood, respected, and supported while doing meaningful work.

In addition to therapy, I provide EMDR consultation and training for clinicians. I care deeply about ethical, culturally responsive, and effective trauma treatment, and I bring that same commitment to my work with both clients and therapists.

I believe in doing my own work. The same reflection, growth, emotional honesty, and self-awareness I encourage in therapy are practices I continue to value in my own life. I endeavour to always better myself, as a father, a husband, a family member and as an individual.

I know firsthand that finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can seem like an overwhelming task. Not only is it vulnerable, but at times it can be difficult to get a sense of who this person is or how they might be able to help. I will do my best to be transparent about who I am and what therapy could be like with me.

It is important to start by saying that I show up to sessions not just as a psychologist, but most importantly as a human being. I will listen to you with genuine care and curiosity, do my best to ensure you feel heard and valued, provide encouragement, offer new perspectives when needed, and even crack a joke or two with those who fancy it. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and real — qualities I see as essential in building a safe therapeutic relationship.

I work alongside individuals ages 16 and older as well as couples navigating a variety of challenges. Often, my therapy interventions are focused on learning how to regulate emotions through both acceptance and change, expressing these emotions effectively with others, and processing deeper patterns of emotion, trauma, and beliefs through EMDR. I am formally trained in & specialize in EMDR, DBT, and Gottman Couples Therapy. For many clients, therapy is not only about reducing symptoms but also reconnecting with themselves, their values, and the people who matter most to them.

When we work together, I believe in blending evidence-based practices with compassion and flexibility. While I value the training I’ve received to guide us, I also deeply value your input in our sessions. You are the expert on your life, and I see therapy as a collaborative process. With our combined wisdom, I am hopeful we can make some of the emotionally heavy stuff feel a little less heavy.

In my free time, you may find me snuggling my 120-pound Golden Mountain dog named Bear, playing volleyball, skiing, singing off my Bluetooth karaoke microphone, aimlessly seeking a new spot in nature to explore, or pretending not to doze off on the couch while watching Netflix with my partner.

This world does not offer us a guidebook on how to be human. The process of understanding and accepting ourselves, others, and the world can feel incredibly overwhelming, confusing, inspiring, and perhaps painful at times. My hope is that through therapy this process might feel a little less overwhelming. Feel free to reach out for more information or to connect.
