The EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) sets eligibility requirements for EMDR Basic Training. Eligible participants generally include:

• Independently licensed or registered mental health professionals with a qualifying graduate degree

• Provisionally registered or pre-licensed clinicians actively pursuing independent licensure while working under an independently licensed supervisor

• Qualifying graduate students in a master's or doctoral mental health program who have completed core coursework and are in the practicum or internship stage under appropriate supervision

• Physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, master level counsellors
